Flute and Piano Lessons: Policies and Tuition Rates

Piano and flute lessons for students in Camarillo and online.

Commitment to Musical Study

Growing as a musician requires a year-round commitment from the teacher, students, and their families. The setting aside of practice time, the financial implications of lessons and instrument maintenance, and the travel to and from lessons and other events are just some of things to think about when considering piano or flute lessons for those in your family. Below is a summary of some of these commitments.

Annual Enrollment Fee

The Annual Enrollment Fee is billed into 12 equal and predictable monthly payments that covers our complete annual calendar—including private instruction, performance classes, and masterclasses—giving you a stable, all-inclusive monthly investment. Monthly tuition starts at $205/month.

lesson cancellations

Enrollment in the studio reserves an exclusive weekly time slot. Because tuition is based on this reserved enrollment rather than individual attendance, lessons missed by the student cannot be refunded or credited. In the event of an illness or planned vacation, students may elect to have a virtual lesson during their normal lesson time, trade lesson times with another student on the “Swap List”, and register for open makeups that arise due to other cancellations in the schedule.

Book & Activity deposit

A $75.00 deposit for each registered student will be used for expenses including: books and material expenses, Studio recitals (live and virtual), festival entry fees (live and virtual).

Quarterly Group Performance classes

Four times a year, we pivot from our standard private lesson format to a Group Performance Class. These sessions are a core component of our studio calendar, designed to give students a balanced musical education beyond the individual practice bench.

During these weeks, students gain experience in a collaborative environment where they:

  • Build Performance Comfort: Students play their current pieces for one another in a friendly, low-pressure setting, helping them build confidence and ease in public performance.

  • Expand Their Skills: We use this time to cover essential areas that are difficult to fit into a weekly private lesson, such as music history, active listening, theory-based games, and rhythm exercises.

  • Learn Through Observation: Students develop their ears and broaden their musical perspective by observing peers at different stages of their own musical journeys.

These classes provide a well-rounded foundation for every student, blending individual technique with the social and educational benefits of a studio community.

practice sessions

Consistent practice is the fuel for musical breakthroughs. Because our curriculum is interactive and goal-driven, committing to regular home practice ensures your student feels confident, proud, and excited for their lesson every single week.
